Basic principles
Within ourBIM we define three basic principles that are important for the success of a project. The relations between the three principles may differ per project. Geonius oversees the complete process and adjusts to these principles.
The area information model makes a building project understandable for everyone.
GIM
Geonius also has a lot of expertise in the Area Information Model, better known as GIM. GIM focuses mainly on municipal authorities and other area managers. This model goes way further than the building level BIM is usually associated with; it highlights the area where the project actually takes place. Therefore GIM is the new basic information of an area. And this information serves as input for BIM.
With GIM, the changes in an area because of a building project are clear to everyone at first sight. For example, what are the consequences for local residents? What will be the end result? There are no complicated technical drawings, just a clarifying 3D-environment of the whole area. In addition, GIM is also very useful for contractors. For example, think of the visualisation of noise in the environment or think of detour routes for road traffic. The current developments in hardware and software results in the daily increase in possibilities of GIM.
